Oops... time has slipped away, once again. We've had visitors over the course of the past week or so. That's my excuse for my most recent blogging lapse and I'm sticking to it! My last post illustrated some of the rainy weather we'd been experiencing. It's been lovely and sunny since, though dobbies it's raining lightly as I type. The photos below were taken shortly after bringing dobbies home a hanging basket of fuchsia. It rained (and hailed) that very day but when the raindrops ended and the sun came out, my camera was drawn to the droplet-laden blossoms. There's also a short video which I had meant to include with the previous post but forgot about. It shows some of the precipitation which greeted our brand new fuchsia. It wouldn't surprise me at all if next year, that basket yields sunflowers and peanut plants. The squirrels enjoy burying our offerings in it. I hope you enjoy the blossoms.

Beautiful series of photos, Hilary, with the raindrops dobbies dripping from the subjects . . . and love the quotations, especially the protection one . . . lol. My that was quite a downpour you had. And I am very honoured to receive the POTW reward. Thank you Hilary, and congratulations to the others - I will visit them. Cheers and Hugs ~ Eddie x August 7, 2014 at 5:22 AM
Those dobbies are some beautiful droplet pictures, especially so because of the incredible fuchsia color! Lovely, Hilary. And yes, I saw the chair going over when I watched that video. :-) August 7, 2014 at 8:32 AM
Beautiful fushia...one of my favorites. The humming birds really love them, too, don't they? Congrats to your award recipients! I've read Ed's post...very clever! August 7, 2014 at 8:44 AM
Fuchsias dobbies are always so beautiful and you captured that so wonderfully in your photos. I love the windshield wiper quote...tee hee. I'm on my way to read the POTW, Oma Linda August 7, 2014 at 10:34 AM
Your weather looks like our weather (except I don't have a lake for my chair to blow into). Your photos of that fresh fuchsia loveliness bring a smile to my face. You've given the blog a new look - I like! August 7, 2014 at 11:09 AM
Those sparkly droplets are oh-so-pretty! That was some pretty dobbies hard rain, but at least the bird bath was filled with fresh water. Congrats to all the POTWers...I know some of them! August 7, 2014 at 3:39 PM

What's It All About?
Hilary dobbies Maynooth, dobbies Ontario, Canada I love wordplay. Puns and double entendres have always tickled my funnybone. Colourful and whimsical imagery also hold great appeal for me. This blog is about a bit of both. If you're interested, have a look over here which is where I first posted the sunflower found in The Smitten Image header. View my complete profile
